What is an ideal in human psychology

Remember how often we pronounce "ideal living conditions", "ideal working conditions", "This is my ideal of a man / woman", "this is an ideal relationship", etc. And now remember the situation when ideal ideals disagree. Up to the fact that someone considers terrible what is the perfect and most beautiful for the other. Why is this happening? Why do ideal ideas differ and what affects the formation of ideas? We have to talk about this today.

What is the ideal

The ideal is the best sample of something or the highest goal in some kind of activity. This is the limit of human dreams, then what a person seeks. But the idea of the ideal is always subjective.

For example, in the presentation of one woman, the perfect figure is the maximum muscles and a minimum of fat. And the other woman stretches to the magnificent forms. The third representative of the beautiful floor dreams of a flat figure. And such a discrepancy of ideals is observed in everything: appearance, leisure, circle of communication, place and working conditions, marital status, character, etc.

The ideal or system of ideals differs not only from person to man, but also changes inside the person. This is a dynamic structure that depends on the age, the situation of development, environment, the level of intelligence, the horizons of a person. Our ideals change throughout life.

How the ideal is formed

The formation of ideals occurs in the process of socialization. The basis of ideals:

A great influence on the formation of ideals is provided by society and its assessment, opinion. For example, in different epochs in society there were various ideas about the perfect family. For a long time, Patriarchate reigned. The woman played an exceptionally role of the keeper of a homely hearth. She listened to her husband, did not dare to twist him. And what do we see today? The idea of gender equality is supported, family responsibilities. And someone alone believes that the ideal of a family is a working woman and male householder.

Another example. Once in the society of the rules of the Spirit of collectivism, and now the society promotes the idea of individualism. The ideal of a citizen is an independent, constantly developing and creatively self-realizing personality.

As the person matters, the person is focused on different representatives of society. At an early age - parents, senior brothers and sisters. In school years - teacher. In adolescence - peers. In adults and adults - other adults. The ideal can be a hero of a book or a historical person.

It is worth noting that socially significant ideals are not always becoming personally significant beliefs and aspirations. There is no transition of public ideals into intrapersonal samples to imitate. The formation of ideals affects the worldview of a person and the mentality of society. The ideal only then becomes a product of the inner world, when a person fully realizes that he must follow this ideal, to fulfill the duties associated with it. If a person perceives something like proper, and not just knows that it is necessary to do that, then this is something becomes aspiration. Thus, it is important to feel and worry about yourself, and not just know, have an idea of something.

What role is the ideal playing in a person

The idea of the ideal and thrust contribute to the development of the personality. In the pursuit of the result, the person is self-improvement and engaged in self-education. The ideal determines the norms of behavior and asks the direction of activity, affects the direction of the individual. The ideal determines the purpose and meaning of a person's life, affects behavior and thinking.

Sometimes the attitude towards ideal is contemplative-enthusiastic. But it is more like the worship of the idol, and we will talk about it another time. In the meantime, continue the conversation about the ideal.

The perfect image is an improved reality. Consider this more on the example of the identity ideal. The ideal is endowed with those qualities that a person lacks. He knows what man does not know how in the present. But, which is important, a person can all purchase it if he wants. This is ideal from me fantastic. However, sometimes these elements are confused inside the person, and the person puts forward unrealistic requirements for itself. He, of course, to achieve them, cannot, from which he is experiencing deep frustration, irritation, disappointment. Against the background of this, depression, neurosis or other mental disorder can develop. I propose more consideration of the situation in which a person confuses I-perfect and fantastic, condemning myself for failure and suffering.

Perfectionism as a desire for ideal

Perfectionism is a constant desire for ideal. Perfectionist is always unhappy with himself, trying to improve itself, peace, activity. It is loaning on trifles and as a result does not notice or does not have time to catch the main thing. Perfectionist is dissatisfied with himself, even when she succeeds. He always thinks that he could do better, faster, etc. In pursuit of ideal, the perfectionist forgets about basic needs, and he can even destroy the fruit of his works.

Perfectionism may be a feature of character, and can take pathological forms, to grow into obsessive-compulsive disorders. However, the prerequisites for perfectionism are always the same:

Fear of failure is sometimes shouted with a perfective hand. Then he prefers not to do anything, do not try new, not to take extra responsibility.

The reason for the development of perfectionism is overestimated by parents. Crown, prohibitions, emotional coldness, demanding and other elements of authoritarian education lead to this. As we said, children follow the ideals of parents. Perfectionist since childhood is taught to reach the unrealistic ideal.

Parents, as a rule, do not know or deliberately ignore the characteristics of the child. Instead, they try to make an example to imitate (in their presentation), the object for pride. Or they strive to embody their unfulfilled dreams. And for the development of the child, there is nothing worse than to go against its essence. That is, to do what there is no deposit and inclinations. Or live on the schedule, contrary to the properties of the psyche, temperament. The child grows, and the overestimated demanding to itself and other persists, as well as the sense of personal insolvency associated with it.

A healthy I-concept is important for the harmonious and normal development of the person. And this is true for everything that surrounds us. We must represent the perfect life, ideal. We have to dream about it and reach it. But it is impossible to advance overestimated expectations and requirements. It must be remembered about the individual psychological features that affect the possibilities and abilities of people.

What is the ideal?

Is there an objective concept of justice and ideal in the world? If so, why is our world so imperfect? Are there ideal models to which you need to strive, or a person itself establishes the criteria of a fair, beautiful, harmonious? To assess this or that action or creation, a person must resort to the comparison method. But with what? What is the ideal? Often, a fashion is made for the standard, based on the opinion of people. But the person is trusted to make a mistake, and the story proved it many times. And if you still assume that ideals exist and do not depend on the opinions of a person, how to find them? We offer to your attention a fragment from the book Jorge Angel Living "Letters of Delia and Fernun."

What is the ideal?

What is the ideal - that is the main thing that we are trying to determine how much it is possible. I had the entity, which is in the highest dimension, which is superior to the one in which our everyday consciousness lives. Only waving, putting on the tiptoe, rushing up, the soul may not clearly distinguish him for a moment. I mean actually ideal, ideal in the literal sense of the word. My understanding of the ideal is associated with the representations of Plato on archetypes. This is a heavenly model that appears to his earthly shadow, demanding increasing perfection from it and as much as possible with him. Thus, this is a goal that simultaneously outlining and determining the path is the intense line of consciousness between its natural and elected by them by the highest state, for spiritual consciousness seeks to merge with the ideal.

"Subjectivity" of the ideal - only apparent, since subjectivity and objectivity relative and one can exist only along with the other, as a large and small, new, and old, top and bottom, etc. But do not neglect this relativity, because our "I "Inertia carries accumulated ideas about it. If we take a map of the world and turn it over, then with surprise you will find that with difficulty learning the usual outline, because the "top" is always identified with the north, and "bottom" - with south. But since there is no vertex in space, nor Niza, in fact, it does not matter where to arrange the Arctic. And for us, of course, it is incomparably more convenient to read the card, on which the North Pole is located at the top. This example is definitely not fully applicable to the ideal and its numerous reflections on different steps of consciousness. However, he can give an approximate idea of the boundaries of our mind and about false obstacles that he puts on the path of knowledge.

Ideal, although we are only occasionally we see him clearly, is what should light up, like the Sun, all our lives. We will extremely rarely look directly in the sun, but it does not prevent us from always knowing where it is to feel His presence, feel its impact on us and all that surrounds us. And if an ideal in pure form can be perceived only in the "Teofanius", and then far from everyone, then his reflections on everything that surrounds one person or a group of people next to this ideal should always be noticeable. It must be seen in every flower, in every bird, in the noise of each wave of the surf. The man, waking up, must turn his first thought to him and fall asleep with this thought in the evenings. The man who goes for the ideal is relentless thinking about him, lives in his atmosphere, whatever it does. When all the thoughts appeal to the ideal, it opens in the most ordinary - even at the bottom of the cup of broth, which we drink. Any event that happens to us with us is associated with it. He seems to us in the appearance of a loved one, he sounds in the violet of heavy ship chains and in the barely caught rustle of the leaf falling on the sand. Ideal - justification of life and death, for he equals the cradle and mortal bed; We live, with him and die for him. There is no greater glory than to serve as the ideal, to whom we handed the soul, how no badness is worse than to turn away from him. To betray the ideal means to betray yourself, feel your emptiness in the chest, with the cold of which the icy breathing of death will not compare. Ideal is supervised: you can reason about it, it can be justified, but this is not enough. It is necessary to live in full on all plans of consciousness, under all conditions and at all in the moment.

The ideal is not the sum of all conceivable perfections, it is a metaphysical root, on which our awareness of perfection is based on.

There is no ideal of roses, but as Platonists taught, there is one who is in a flower, and the beauty perceived by us is the reflection of the ideal in it.

Delia and Fernan: We have some problems. For example, materialist has its ideal - comfort, and for this ideal it fights. In this struggle, he is able to kill or die himself. Is such an ideal true?

- You should not mix the ideal, which, as I said, is an archetype and which we do not create, but only catch, with individual or collective aspirations that turn into a totem created by the people themselves and, therefore, which is not able to rise above their aspirations, To go beyond the consciousness of its creators, although we invest the best part of themselves in these aspirations. Dam, skyscraper, an airplane, before they were built, were the type of artificial ideal, which, however, becomes useful, serving an impulse to create all these things. I prefer to call all this rather projects, plans or desires than ideals. The ideal is always something spiritual, although it is all the volume, for everything is spirit. The project is erected from the bottom up, it is based on more or less material needs and needs. The ideal is always perceived as something lying outside of all the materiality. It is ineistently, and the functional in it is always secondary.

It would be possible to say that there are ideals of different quantities, but it will be incorrect. This is a matter of no size, but the essence. It's one thing - the desire to receive a lot of money or the intention to make the table, and completely different - the ideal of the state of the world of order, which was based on everything is kind, fair and beautiful. The ideal is always universal, he is associated with nature and God. Those who do not see the wonderful creation of the thinker in nature and do not perceive God outside the whole things, will never be able to realize the ideal in his true greatness. Everything else is mental constructions born by dissatisfaction and personal interests. The ideal achieved is higher; Implemented intention is exhausted, improving, strengthened and - dies, because the nature of it is material. And when the need caused him to be satisfied, he ceases to exist. He can satisfy, but never - glory and grace.
